Ndinawe Safe House

The Ndinawe Safe House is a sixteen bed facility that provides accessible twenty-four hours shelter and basic necessities for Winnipeg children and youth who are living on the streets, are at risk of abuse and exploitation, or in need of a safe place to stay. This includes youth who have had previous conflict with the law. Unlike most group homes, youth can admit themselves into Ndinawe safe home without the referral of child and family service workers. The staff of Ndinawe offer culturally appropriate counseling and recreational services which help our youth develop a positive and safe lifestyle in a welcoming, supportive and safe home. In an average year this amounts to 5,500 nights of food, shelter and support to children in our community.
